1. Purpose
This policy explains how payments, fees, taxes, charges, receipts, commissions, service fees, subscriptions, add-ons, and adjustments may apply on UrbanBook.
2. Payment Authorization
By placing an order, making a booking, approving a quote, buying a ticket, renting an item, subscribing to a vendor plan, or using a paid service, the payer authorizes UrbanBook or its payment partners to collect the displayed amount and any later approved or policy-based charges.
Payments may be made through available payment methods such as mobile money, card, bank transfer, voucher, wallet, or other approved channels. Payment options may vary by location, user type, vendor, category, amount, and risk checks.
3. Customer Charges
Customer charges may include item prices, service prices, booking prices, ticket prices, rental prices, delivery fees, venue fees, room rates, taxes, service fees, platform fees, deposits, add-ons, late fees, damage charges, cancellation charges, and other disclosed amounts.
UrbanBook will aim to show charges clearly before confirmation. Some charges may arise later where allowed, such as approved add-ons, extension fees, damage deductions, late return charges, extra guest charges, unpaid balances, or post-service adjustments.
4. Vendor Charges
Vendor charges may include commissions, subscription fees, setup fees, promotion fees, payment processing costs, refund costs, chargeback costs, penalties, unpaid balances, support recovery charges, or other agreed charges.
UrbanBook may deduct vendor charges from payouts or require separate payment.
5. Taxes
Vendors are responsible for understanding, collecting, reporting, and paying taxes that apply to their goods, services, income, staff, property, rentals, events, or business activity unless UrbanBook expressly states that it will handle a particular tax.
Customers may be charged taxes where required or where vendors include taxes in prices. UrbanBook may issue receipts, summaries, or reports, but these do not replace professional tax advice.
6. Pricing Accuracy
Vendors must provide accurate prices and must not hide mandatory charges. UrbanBook may correct obvious pricing errors, cancel transactions affected by serious mistakes, require vendor correction, or take enforcement action against misleading pricing.
Customers must not exploit obvious pricing errors or system mistakes. If a price is clearly incorrect, UrbanBook may cancel, adjust, or require confirmation before fulfillment.
7. Payment Failures
If payment fails, UrbanBook may treat the order or booking as incomplete, pending, cancelled, or unpaid. Vendors are not required to fulfill unpaid transactions unless UrbanBook confirms otherwise.
Users must not submit false payment screenshots, reversed payments, unauthorized payment claims, or payment promises outside approved channels.
8. Deposits and Holds
Some transactions may require deposits, security amounts, partial payments, or balance payments. Deposit treatment is explained further in the Deposits, Damages, and Asset Use Policy and the applicable listing terms.
UrbanBook may hold payment or payout amounts where there is an active dispute, refund review, fraud concern, chargeback, legal request, vendor verification issue, customer complaint, or policy concern.
9. Receipts and Records
UrbanBook may provide receipts, invoices, confirmations, payout records, and transaction summaries. Users should keep their own records for personal, business, tax, and dispute purposes.
If a receipt appears incorrect, the user should contact support promptly.
10. Currency and Conversion
UrbanBook may display prices in supported currencies. Where conversion or third-party payment charges apply, the final amount may be affected by payment provider fees, bank charges, exchange rates, or operator rules.
11. No Off-Platform Payment Where Prohibited
Customers and vendors must not use UrbanBook to find each other and then move payment outside UrbanBook to avoid fees, records, safety steps, or support processes where in-platform payment is required.
