UrbanBook Terms and Conditions

Welcome to UrbanBook Innovations LTD (“UrbanBook”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our platform, website, and services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using our Services, you affirm that you are at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using our Services on behalf of an entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Services Provided
UrbanBook provides a platform for users to discover and connect with local businesses, service providers, vendors, and event organizers. Our Services include but are not limited to booking appointments, reserving services, listing businesses, selling tickets, and creating online stores.
3. Account Registration
To use certain features of our Services, you may need to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
- Maintain and promptly update your account information.
- Keep your password secure and confidential.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Post or transmit any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers or networks connected to the Services.
5. Content
User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of the content you post on UrbanBook. However, by posting content, you grant UrbanBook a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform your content in connection with the Services.
UrbanBook Content
The content provided by UrbanBook, including text, graphics, images, and software, is protected by intellectual property laws. You agree not to reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without our express written permission.
6. Listings and Transactions
Business Listings
Businesses can create listings to promote their services. By creating a listing, you agree to provide accurate and complete information about your business. UrbanBook reserves the right to remove or modify any listing that violates these Terms or our policies.
Marketplace Transactions
UrbanBook provides a marketplace for vendors to sell products. Vendors are responsible for the accuracy of their listings and for fulfilling orders. UrbanBook is not liable for any transactions between users and vendors.
Event Listings and Ticket Sales
Event organizers can list their events and sell tickets through UrbanBook. Organizers are responsible for the accuracy of their event listings and for delivering the promised event experience.
7. Payment and Subscription Plans
UrbanBook offers various subscription plans for businesses. By subscribing to a plan, you agree to pay the associated fees. Fees are non-refundable except as stated in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
8. Refund and Cancellation Policy
Subscription Plans
- Monthly and Quarterly Plans: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations will take effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds will be issued for partial months or quarters.
- Annual Plans: Annual plans are billed upfront. You may cancel your annual subscription within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. After 30 days, no refunds will be issued.
Marketplace and Event Tickets
Refunds for marketplace transactions and event tickets are subject to the vendor’s or event organizer’s refund policy. UrbanBook is not responsible for issuing refunds for these transactions.
9. Termination
UrbanBook reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or our policies, or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Disclaimer of Warranties
UrbanBook provides the Services on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UrbanBook shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use the Services.
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein.
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Services.
- Any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through our Services by any third party.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UrbanBook, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including without limitation reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Services, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Zambia. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Lusaka, Zambia.
13. Changes to Terms
UrbanBook reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on our website. Your continued use of the Services after the changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
