Golf Rest Lodge is home away from home for me. The rooms have adequate space, wardrobe, well furnished ablution and much more tidy. It is a serene where can rest and work at the same time. Where necessary this will be my home whenever I'm in Chipata. Try it and you'll see the goodness of the Lord in His Providence

Nice spacious rooms, good customer service. Room rates reasonable.
I always stay here when I'm in Chipata.
Adjacent to the old Golf course, it provides the perfect atmosphere for work while you're away from the office.
Only thing missing is WiFi and ofcourse Bar/Restaurant, which means you have to go out for both, but on the flip side, that gives you an opportunity to explore Chipata.
I recommend you consider Golf Rest if you like serene environments and no disturbances.
I feel the place has high potential.
That being said there are a few things that should improve like,
- Communicate how you want your guests to communicate with staff.
- Ask people the choice of breakfast at the very least with what you have. I.e. we have bread. Do you want toast or as it?
- Fix rooms before guests check-in to avoid being called for other tools for the stay.
- Check and re-check simple things like how hot is the coffee milk/water, is there enough bread spread etc.
- Is breakfast at 7:30 really an optimum time for someone on a work trip?
- Is the POS machine working?
- Is the broken lamp on the patio looking nice?
- Is the 'Do not open window' sticker looking neat on the window?
But I am a too-observant person BUT I am not unrealistic or high maintenance. I am just opinionated.
And I think this is all a senior staff(fromt desk manager)issue. If they won't communicate to junior staff, they won't know.
OVERALL - I am having an awesome stay. The rooms are fairly modern, spacious car park, secure, very friendly security-staff, cool TV viewing selection.
I think this place just needs more marketing(hint!) and it'll boom.
Wow nice place it is ,lovely for the outings and a cool place, I love the buildings and how the customers are handled at this place with respect and sense of humor very welcoming workers, or mostly everything is perfect at this place including how the whole lodge is belt. Good job keep it up, if anyone wants outings on weekends or where to sleep when you are in chipata Eastern province, visit this lodge and you will never regret it. awesome place.
We had a very bad experience me and my kids at Golf Rest Lodge when we came from Norway🇸🇯....the day we arrived there, we found dirty linen in the bathtub in the room we were supposed to stay in and beds were hard. Breakfast was terrible and little...we were told one plate per room. Before we could even leave the premises of the lodge, we saw the stuff running into the room where we checked out as if to check if we have stolen anything. They have trust issues....not everyone is a thief. The owner was infact at the forefront running towards the rooms we had booked. She seemed charming but it was all pretence. We later booked at protea which was the best, unfortunately the night we arrived it was fully booked, that's why we ended up at Golf Rest Lodge. For me it's the worst lodge, they should learn customer service.
