We were recommended Emerald Landscapes by Coffee Girl Designs (garden designer), and we were not disappointed. From start to finish they were very professional, and went above and beyond to finish our garden in a timely fashion, always going that extra mile to accommodate us. The finished article is stunning, and I am very hard to please. I forgot to mention that they always arrived on time, and always cleared up after themselves. They were polite and considerate - the list goes on and on.... I would not hesitate to recommend Emerald Landscapes, and in fact our neighbours are having them to do their garden on our recommendation.
We've used Emerald to completely redo our (small) garden and install a garden office. There were a number of issues, which can be grouped into two categories:
(1) Poor communication. From the start, I had to repeatedly reach out to find out when the work could start, and only after repeated queries received answers (which without explanation or notice kept shifting back). Just before the start, we were told that things would slip by a few days and that we should take delivery of material, just to find workers to arrive on the day. Repeatedly, work stopped at lunch and people vanished, not to return for several days, without any comment. Finally, damage to a heat pump required further follow-ups with an insurer, taking over half a year to get resolved, with long stretches (months!) of no updates from Emerald.(2) Quality of work. The basic landscaping work was fine, but things beyond that were problematic. This included minor things such as a pergola post that was tilted by 10° (right next to a perfectly straight fence post), annoying things such as leaving timber on the ground, stepping on it and then installing walls with footprints on them, and major things such as large gaps (2cm) in the floor of the garden office.
Planning of the work was perfunctory: measuring was done poorly so that the recommended garden office simply didn't fit into the space; a pergola was planned with a post right in front of the garden office; ...Overall, the results are at best mediocre. There was a clear lack of attention to detail, and no culture of simply checking over results after finishing a step of work. When faults were pointed out, they were usually quickly actioned (though sometimes with attempted quick fixes rather than focus). Everyone involved was polite and friendly through the process, at least.
Right from the planning meeting with Adam, through to the completion of the patio everybody was very professional. They listened to what we wanted, yet had valuable input when needed. The boys, Dean, Callum and Cameron did an amazing job laying our patio and were friendly and courteous throughout. They cleaned up as they went and left the garden immaculate, very impressive given the groundworks necessary. We were extremely happy with the final result, it has transformed our garden. We would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them.
I am very happy to recommend Emerald Landscapes for their proficiency, diligence and energy. I had a patio built which required concrete footpaths to be broken up and removed. The guys promptly arrived at 7:30 am every day and toiled through some of the worst rain this year as best they could. They worked hard but in good spirit. I am very impressed and pleased with the result. An extremely proffesional company that do a good job.
As Craig Revel Horwood from Strictly Come Dancing would say in 'Three words: Fab-u-lous!'.
They have done an excellent job on the church path at All Saints Church Longstanton. We are very pleased, as are many local people who have walked past and admired and complimented the completed works. Most of all throughout their time with us working your Team were very respectful of our needs as well as the church area they were working in.
We are required to sign-off the works with Ely Diocese Buildings Team and will certainly ensure that the Diocesan add their name as a recommended contractor for such specialist works.
Once again, many thanks to the Team for a job well done.
