Lilayi Lodge offers a memorable experience with its beautiful setting and clean pool, perfect for relaxation. The drinks were delightful, adding to the overall enjoyment. Although the restaurant was closed for an event, the staff were lovely and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant brief visit.
1 hr from Lusaka Airport. It’s a great place to stop over. The staff are very well trained and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and the animals just make it so special (with buck and monkeys outside your door)
We stayed for 3 nights in July. We stayed in the family rooms/ suits, it’s not as lovely/ fancy as the deluxe rooms, but they have everything you need and are very comfortable.
Family suit- are two separate rooms, with en-suits (the tiniest shower), there is a small living room- with bar fridge, microwave and kettle
The food - unfortunately being there for 3 days, we noticed it is a hit and miss. Some dishes are amazing, some were very average. Cocktails were good- and a nice selection of wine
We did the wine tasting (the wine is not great) but the pairing food was superb, and the whole wine tasting experience was done very nicely!
Activities-
Play ground and pool for the kids.
Kids loved the play ground. Pool was a bit too cold in winter.
Game drive (there quite a bit of game) the game drive is 1hr - so lovely and short. Sonnet is an great guide - with over 30year experience on the farm
Bush walks. We did the 4.5km. Was lovely, some parts were in the shade. But take hats, and water- it’s quite a hot dry walk.
Spa- very lovely. One of the nicest massages I have had in a longtime. Recommend
Overall it’s a lovely place and I recommend it
Every year after our Zambia roadtrip we treat ourselves to a few nights Lilayi.
Rooms are heaven, restaurant is fantastic.
We will be back and back and back.

a month agoThe food was amazing thou the portion was small and not so hot. The place is quiet very good for a get away from the town noise.
